Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Private Limited (SMFA) started its operations in 2003-04 with a 100 TPD sponge iron kiln at the Kalunga Industrial Estate in Odisha. The company further expanded the capacities of its sponge iron plant with the addition of a third 100 TPD Kiln along with two 12 Ton induction furnaces with a Continuous Casting Machine (for Billet casting) in the year 2008. Adding one more feather to its expansion program, SMFA commissioned a 12 MW coal-based Captive Power Plant in March 2008 to meet the power requirements of its three 100 TPD sponge iron plants and steel melting shop (SMS).
SMFA has its railway siding, which was approved by the South eastern Railways in the year 2007, and its design and engineering got approved in 2009. The company upgraded the railway siding to a private freight terminal to cater to plants’ requirements and get the benefit from railway policies along with the added business opportunities with the various manufacturing plants in the vicinity. In 2011-12, SMFA ventured into producing power using renewable sources by commissioning a 1 MW solar power plant under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission at Tankajoda village in Sundargarh district of Odisha.


Job Objective


Responsible for overseeing all recruitment in SMFA and EIPL – including backfills & new vacancies – across leadership, laterals and fresh college graduates (MTs/CAs/GETs/DETs etc).

• Administrative Reporting: HR Head

Key Responsibility Areas


1. Policy

- Responsible of creating the recruitment strategy for the plant in line with the approved manpower plan

2. HRMS recruitment module

- Design / refine HRMS recruitment process for the organization
- Implement HRMS recruitment module
- Ensure entire recruitment process is done through HRMS

3. Recruitment

- Recruitment of individuals in the plant – leadership/ laterals/college graduates/blue collar workforce
- Tie up with online portals & recruitment agencies for hiring the best talent
- Coordination with department HODs to understand backfills/vacancies and future requirement for staffing
- Ensure recruitment cost as per the budget
- Ensure all mandatory documents of candidates are verified during on-boarding and upload the same on HRMS
- Handover the employee database to salary & wages team

4. Induction program

- Develop induction plan at all entry levels
- Ensure adherence to approved induction plan with the support of learning & development team

5. Database

- Maintain database of potential candidates for hiring in the HRMS system

6. HSE & IMS compliance

- Adherence to organization’s HSE practices
- Adherence to IMS systems in the organization
- Adherence to all statutory and company regulations & compliances w.r.t labour laws



Key Performance Indicators


1. Fulfilment Time

- Time taken from vacant position requisition date to issuance of offer letter

2. Employee induction

- Ensure adherence to induction plan for all new joinees

3. HRMS recruitment process

- Implement HRMS recruitment module

4. Recruitment process compliance

- Completion of all documentation & background verification checks while processing the offer
- Ensure compliance to usage of HRMS system and effective use of the system for recruitment

5. Cost per hire

- Ensure cost per hire less than the target (total marketing, hiring process, and referral costs etc)

6. HSE & Legal compliance

- Adherence to all statutory and company regulations & compliances w.r.t labour laws
- Ensure compliance to HSE practices


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


- Work experience as a recruitment officer for a steel plant
- MBA-HR would be a plus

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE


- Min. 3 years of relevant experience required
