Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Private Limited (SMFA) started its operations in 2003-04 with a 100 TPD sponge iron kiln at the Kalunga Industrial Estate in Odisha. The company further expanded the capacities of its sponge iron plant with the addition of a third 100 TPD Kiln along with two 12 Ton induction furnaces with a Continuous Casting Machine (for Billet casting) in the year 2008. Adding one more feather to its expansion program, SMFA commissioned a 12 MW coal-based Captive Power Plant in March 2008 to meet the power requirements of its three 100 TPD sponge iron plants and steel melting shop (SMS).
SMFA has its railway siding, which was approved by the South eastern Railways in the year 2007, and its design and engineering got approved in 2009. The company upgraded the railway siding to a private freight terminal to cater to plants’ requirements and get the benefit from railway policies along with the added business opportunities with the various manufacturing plants in the vicinity. In 2011-12, SMFA ventured into producing power using renewable sources by commissioning a 1 MW solar power plant under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission at Tankajoda village in Sundargarh district of Odisha.


Job Objective


Responsible for executing electrical maintenance of entire DRI plant and support operational & maintenance improvement initiatives

Key Responsibility Areas


1. Plant uptime

2. Maintenance practices

- Monitor adherence to - Cleaning, Lubrication, Tightening and Inspection (CLTI), Preventive Maintenance (PM), condition-based monitoring schedules
- Compliance to checking & filling of electrical maintenance check sheets
- Track effectiveness of maintenance practices
- Track effectiveness of maintenance practices
- Participation in Root Cause Analysis (RCA)/Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for major equipment breakdown / feed losses
- Prepare daily / weekly / monthly MIS reports of the department

3. Spares

- Responsible to maintain Min-Max levels for all all V/E spares
- Responsible for health & availability of Insurance spares
- Ensure spares refurbishment criteria & plan forrefurbishment to reduce costs
- Ensure ERP driven requisition, issue, indenting of spares

4. Shutdown maintenance

- Planning of shutdown maintenance and monitor effectiveness
- Optimise shutdown maintenance duration and cost

5. Manpower

- Defines the objectives of electrical team and carries out their performance reviews, promotes the quality of the work and motivates his/her personnel
- Ensure technicaltraining hours for electrical team is identified and provided in coordination with HR team.
- Ensure no delays in breakdown maintenance due to manpower shortage

6. Safety & compliance

- Ensure zero safety incidents and no lost time injuries in DRI plant
- Ensure compliance for IMS standards
- Maintain and monitor 3S standards in your department / circle



Key Performance Indicators


1. Plant Availability

- Overall plant availability in a month
- Equipment wise availability in a month (Electrical equipment)
- Daily proper manpower planning to ensure plant availability as per target

2. Maintenance

- PM schedule adherence
- Completion of shutdown jobs within specified timelines

3. MTBF and MTTR

- Maintenance effectiveness:
- Increasing trend of MTBF for critical assets
- Decreasing trend of MTTR – reason wise for critical assets

4. RCA Analysis

- Drive teams to perform root cause analysis for breakdowns / corrective maintenance issues​
- Complete RCAs within 2 days
- Compliance to CAPA action points as per defined timelines

5. Spares

- spares availability within min-max levels
- upkeep of insurance spares

6. EHS Compliance

- Zero lost time injuries / accidents​
- Compliance to EHS and other legal standards​
- Train / coach team members on EHS

7. IMS Compliance

- 100% adherence to IMS standards​
- Implement best practices​
- Train / coach team members on IMS / SOPs
- Complete all levels of 3S activities


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


- Work experience as electrical engineer in steel processingunit
- B.E/ Diploma – Electrical

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE


- Min. 5-10 years of relevant experience required
- 11 KV certification is a plusl
