Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Private Limited (SMFA) started its operations in 2003-04 with a 100 TPD sponge iron kiln at the Kalunga Industrial Estate in Odisha. The company further expanded the capacities of its sponge iron plant with the addition of a third 100 TPD Kiln along with two 12 Ton induction furnaces with a Continuous Casting Machine (for Billet casting) in the year 2008. Adding one more feather to its expansion program, SMFA commissioned a 12 MW coal-based Captive Power Plant in March 2008 to meet the power requirements of its three 100 TPD sponge iron plants and steel melting shop (SMS).

SMFA has its railway siding, which was approved by the South eastern Railways in the year 2007, and its design and engineering got approved in 2009. The company upgraded the railway siding to a private freight terminal to cater to plants’ requirements and get the benefit from railway policies along with the added business opportunities with the various manufacturing plants in the vicinity. In 2011-12, SMFA ventured into producing power using renewable sources by commissioning a 1 MW solar power plant under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission at Tankajoda village in Sundargarh district of Odisha.

To monitor, control, and optimize beneficiation plant operations from the control room by ensuring stable plant performance, maintaining production targets, ensuring process efficiency, and coordinating with field operators for safe and efficient plant operation.

- Monitor plant parameters from the control room including crushers, screens, jigs, pumps, conveyors, and slurry circuits.
- Ensure smooth and stable operation of beneficiation equipment
- Identify process deviations and take corrective actions in coordination with field operators.

- Monitor hourly and shift production targets.
- Ensure plant throughput and recovery meet defined operational targets.
- Coordinate with field teams to maintain continuous production.

- Monitor process parameters such as feed rate, density, water flow, jigging parameters, and material flow
- Adjust operating parameters to improve recovery and efficiency.

- Communicate with field operators during start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure proper coordination during maintenance activities and equipment isolation.

- Identify equipment faults through alarms or process deviations
- Inform maintenance teams and support troubleshooting activities.

- Ensure plant operations follow all safety and operational SOPs.
- Report unsafe conditions and follow lockout/tagout procedures during shutdown.

- Maintain shift logs, plant operation reports, and production records.
- Record plant performance, downtime, and operational observations.

- Provide accurate shift handover information to the next operator.
- Communicate operational updates to supervisors and cross-functional teams.

- Maintain stable plant operations with minimal downtime

- Ensure production targets are achieved per shift

- Maintain process parameters within operational limits

- Timely reporting of equipment faults and operational deviations

- Zero safety violations during plant operation

- Accurate maintenance of control room logs and shift reports

- Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Metallurgy / Mining or relevant technical discipline.

- Min. 2-5 years of relevant experience required
